OATMEAL MEATLOAF – January 16 – National Oatmeal Month

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup chili sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 pound bacon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. In a microwave safe bowl add the oats and milk.  Follow the instructions on the oats package.
  3. In a large bowl add the oatmeal, ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, chili sauce, salt, and pepper.  Mix well
  4. Place in a glass bread pan.  top with the bacon.  Bake for 45-60 minutes until done.  Drain excess grease and serve.
