SANGRIA – December 20 – National Sangria Day



  • 1 750 ml bottle of red wine, Merlot or Shiraz preferred
  • 1 lemon, cut into fourths, seeds removed
  • 1 lime, cut into fourths, seeds removed
  • 1 orange, cut into sixths, seeds removed
  • 2 tablespoons sugar, optional
  • ¼ cup brandy


  1. In a large container add the wine.  Squeeze the lemon, lime, and orange wedges into the container, then drop them in.  Add the sugar, if used, and brandy.  Let sit for 1-4 hours before serving.
