Serves 4
Ingredients:
- 2 quarts water
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cups flour
- 4 eggs, lightly beaten
- ⅓ cup milk
- 1 tablespoon salt
- Cooking spray
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
Instructions:
In a large saucepan add the water and oil and bring to a boil. In a large bowl add the flour, eggs, milk, and salt. Stir until smooth, dough will have a thick consistency. Spray a colander or spaetzle maker with cooking spray and place over the boiling water. Place some of the dough into the colander or spaetzle maker. If using the colander use a wooden spoon to press the dough into the boiling water. If using a spaetzle maker follow the instructions that came with it. Leave the pieces in the boiling water until the dumplings are tender and float which will be about 2-3 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon, toss with the butter.
