ITALIAN MEATBALLS

ITALIAN MEATBALLS

 

Serves 4-6

Ingredients:

  • ½ pound Italian sausage, mild or hot
  • ½ pound ground beef
  • ⅓ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions:

In a large mixing bowl, mix all of the ingredients, except the olive oil,  together.  Form the mixture into 1 ½ – 2 inch balls.  In a pan, over medium heat, add the olive oil.  Place ½ of the meatballs in the pan. When they are browned on one side turn them.  Continue until all sides are browned.  Place the browned meatballs on a plate covered with paper towels.  Repeat with the other meatballs.  If you are using the meatballs on their own, place in an oven safe pan and cook at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 30-45 minutes, until the meatballs are cooked completely through.  If not using on their own, you can add them to the sauce, and cook for 45-60 minutes in the sauce, until they are cooked completely through.
