FRAPPE – October 7 – National Frappe Day

Serves 4

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup ground coffee
  • 3 cups water
  • 4 tablespoons sugar, or equivalent sugar substitute
  • 2 tablespoons half and half
  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 tablespoons chocolate or caramel syrup, plus extra for topping
  • Can of whipped cream

Instructions:

Put the coffee and water in a coffee maker and brew.  Pour the coffee into a large measuring cup.  Add the sugar and half and half.  Stir until the sugar is dissolved and pour into ice cube trays and freeze until solid, about 2-3 hours.  Put half of the ice cubes in a blender and add 1 cup of milk and 2 tablespoons of the syrup of your choice.  Blend until smooth.  Taste, if too rich add some regular ice cubes and half and half then blend.  Pour into 2 glasses.  Repeat with the remaining ingredients.  Top with whipped cream and drizzle with the syrup.
